Does not work on Brother HL-5170DN

Hi,
I downloaded and installed Gutenprint 5.3.3 on my mid-2012 MacBook Pro
running Catalina (10.15.7) and attempted to use it with my Brother
HL-5170DN printer.  Although the installation appeared to go smoothly,
attempting to print using the Gutenprint driver resulted in the printer
just spitting out page after page of printed error messages (one per
page).  The same thing happens when I attempt to use the Brother CUPS
driver, although the BRscript-3 driver works.

Just FYI.
