Hi Craig,

After some more testing related to the most recent top patch, I 
discovered additional SEGV potential surrounding that '-p' switch 
abnormality.

While the conditions are rare, I decided to plug the hole anyway.

Attached is a slightly different tarball than I usually send.  It 
contains 2 patches but for different branches.
