Should procps parse zoneinfo?

Hello All,
  For the issue around Available giving wrong answers (see  Issue #334 [1])
I've had to poke around /proc/zoneinfo. This file is sparsely documented,
proc(5) says:

This file displays information about memory zones.  This is useful for
analyzing virtual memory behavior.

I think it does have some value but would like to get a broader consensus.

1) Is it worthwhile for the library to parse /proc/zoneinfo with the view
of something using these values?
2) What values are more useful than others?
3) Could any existing procps tools use this information?
4) Should there be some sort of new cli tool for this information?

I don't do very much system administration so I'm not sure how often the
information in this file isused by others. For me, I'd want to get the
source data for Available but there might be other uses.

There is pcp-zoneinfo[2] which might just do what most people want.
