RE: Re[6]: ROM image for Realtek 8029AS

Our EPROM eraser has now been fixed so I have been able to erase some 32K
28C128 EPROMs. I have programmed them with the 16K rom-o-matic image
(offset=0 which is the default) and verified them. The jumperless network
card is set for boot ROM enabled, rom size =32K but it still won't boot!
(Operating system not found)

Any ideas? I haven't had any success with jumperless NICS and PCI nics. The
only success I had was with an ISA jumpered NE2000 nic.

Or do these cards expect a different offset?

Well, I ran setup utility for my NIC and turned off PnP mode. Then
I set IRQ and I/O PORT and burnt ne-5.0.8-ne.lzrom image into EEPROM.

I think they are right for nonreusable burning. Sometimes ultraviolet don't
erase
data fully from chip, less convenient and less reliable, but more
cheaper (1.3 USD). 28C*** is more convenient, reliable, but more
expansive (6 USD).
