Just thought I would share my approach to the problem.

I'm currently using GRUB as the bootmanager when I install PXES on the
harddrive.
With Grub, you can easily add another partition with XP on, and you have the
menu at boot to select from.

Basicly, "all" you do is make a partition of the size you want, format it,
install GRUB with the Grub-boot-floopy and set up the grub.conf file.
Getting the INITRD and KERNEL onto this newly created partition can be done
in several ways.
I just booted the thin client by PXE and then mounted the local harddisk,
TFTP'ed down the KERNEL and INITRD and then unmounted the harddisk.

Then you can use GHOST or other similar image program to make a clone of the
system to easily turn any other computer into a thin client.

I am aware that this isn't described very detailed for the ones who need a
step-by-step guide, but I'm kinda swamped right now at work, but I may be
able to write this a bit clearer after the weekend.

Regards,

Einar

NTLDR is crap and can really only boot MS operating systems.

pxelinux is capable of doing a local booting. It simply uses the command
"LOCALBOOT 0" instead of a KERNEL line. I havent tried this though, so I
dont know how well it works. Apparently there's a PXE version of GRUB but I
know little about it (but I intend to find out more :)

I'm going to try out the PXELinux Localboot option tomorrow at work (unless
something big is happening). I might also look into other options like PXE
Grub.
