I am in the process of trying to convert 200+ older PC's that are being
retired into PXES boxes that run strictly Citrix. The goal is to lengthen
the lifecycle of our PC's and at the same time (paradoxically) reduce
support costs. It is absolutely critical that local printing working
correctly, and is the only meaningful snag left to rolling out this project.
I need local LPT printing and USB printing, but can live with one or the
other if mutually exclusive.

Background: I am using PXES 0.7 and the Citrix 7 client. The TFTP server is
Linux RH9, but everything else is 100% Microsoft with RIS enabled on the
network for new PC deployment. DHCP is provided through reservations that
include the IP of the TFTP server, and a client name (so the client is not
something like P7039020). Current citrix clients (on Compaq Thin Clients)
download local printers from the Citrix server by client name. This does
not work for PXES clients. A printer is created with the client name as
part of it's name, but it does not print.

I have worked through the HOWTO from Justin C. and there are a couple
inconsistencies from what is in the document, and what actually happens.
1.	The printcap file exists, but it is empty. I entered the info as
Justin suggests for local LPT printing.
2.	"modprobe printer" results in output of "You have new mail in
/var/spool/mail/root"
3.	Entering the command "lpd" results in output of "<date/time>
Get_local_host: hostname 'MIS096' bad"
4.	Entering the command "lpc start all" results in output of "start is
not implemented by the Cups version of lpc"

Any help is greatly appreciated, and I would be happy to post my working
configuration (DHCP/TFTP/Client) for everyone to use.

PS - I am a relative Linux newbie, so you might have to spell things out for
me.
