Creating the device nodes and setuid programs are the operations needing
root privileges.
To prevent this error, pxesconfig check for those privilege but if you
know what you're doing you can add --nonrootinitialize to avoid the
check.

I completely agree, as there is no REQUIREMENT for root access to use
PXES, provided the machine has been properly configured.
