    Hello

    Just a few quick questions....

What Citrix version are you using ? (Server)
What Citrix client are you using ?
PXES 0.7 supports ICA Client 6.30.1052 and 7.00.77757.

    Dear list :

We are trying to re-use Pentium III computers that are being retired as Thin
Clients using pxes. We are using version .7 of PXES to boot from a TFTP
server that hosts the image file. Here is the boot sequence for the Test
    computer using this method:

    1. Power on
    2. Query DHCP
    3. Receive IP, Subnet, DNS, TFTP server IP from DHCP server (Windows
    2000)
    4. BOOT network using PXE
    5. Contact TFTP server specified by DHCP
    6. Download linux image and bootloader
    7. de-compress linux image and run bootloader
    8. bootloader loads linux image
    9. Citrix ICA for Linux is executed and connects to Citrix Server (Windows
    2000)
    10. User authenticates to Terminal Services
    11. User logs into Citrix Server

Once logged in to the citrix session, everything works as expected from the
user perspective EXCEPT printing. Each workstation has an HP deskjet
printer attached directly to its lpt port. We can print raw data directly
    to the lpt port
    (/dev/printers/0)
so we know the physical connection is working. Unfortunately, we can not
get any other printing working. We have tried piping print jobs directly to
lpr and while the jobs do show up in the spool, they fail to ever print. We
have searched the FAQ's and the Forum to no avail. Our next thought is to
perhaps install samba and try printing that way. We are hoping you guys can
provide us with some pointers. We are planning on rolling this out to about
300 desktops however, local printing is a MUST.

I have double checked to make sure the local printing option is selected
during the image creation process. We are open to any and all suggestions
and are looking forward to your responses. Please feel free to reply off
list if you feel it is more appropriate.

    Thanks in advance,

    Micah

on a side note: During our image creation, we chose the "use samba" option.
When the image booted however, there was no samba process (smbd or nmbd)
running and I could not find any local smb.conf. What are we missing?
