Hello list :) I'm not sure if this has been discussed before...but here goes: In a perfect world I would be running Linux DHCP server for our users. But we have a totally MS dominated network. When deploying thin clients over PXE I want to use different images for different hardware. I know this is easy doing on Linux where you can serve a specific image to a specific MAC address. Is there another way ? Take into consideration that all clients are not able to get static IP. I havent really looked much at Remote Configuration yet. Is it possible to use MS DHCP servers and make a remote config for a client based on its MAC address ? I found a post on the list from Diego which said: The configurations files read are (in this order): default.conf <network>.conf <MAC>.conf <hostname>.conf MAC is the hex value (i.e: XXXXXXXXXX.conf) The problem I'm trying to solve is that I have some thin clients who MUST have the X 4.3 version. Because a buggy SiS chip that won't work with X 3.3.6. The other clients run fine on X 3.3.6. The image for X 4.3 adds up to 8.9 MB and the 3.3.6 image comes to 6.3 MB. So I must give out 2 different images in a MS only environment. Do I use Remote Config for this or is there another way ?
