Hello :)

Try making a image with horizontal monitor frequency 30-95 kHz and vertical
frequency 50-160 Hz and see if that works.

It helped on the TFT screens I have.

Regards,

Einar

Hi list,

I have a problem when using PXES and TFT monitors.
First of all, I install PXES on the hard disk of the computer (a Fujitsu 233
with an ati rage mach64 and 64MB ram) because the the connection to the
different offices is to slow to support TFTP and distributed servers is not
an option. There are 2 types of these machines in the company, with only
minor differences. The first has the videocard intergrated in the mainboard,
and the second has an PCI version of the same videocard.

This never gave any problems (I am using PXES 0.7) when using CRT monitors,
in which case I used the option monitor autodetect. However, we recently
bought quite an amount of TFT monitors, which have an ideal resolution of
1024*768*60HZ. When I specify a refresh rate during the image creation (also
the ones which have been mentioned in the forum) everything works fine and
48.3 HZ horizontal and 60 HZ vertical is selected on the machine with the
intergrated videocard.

However, when I use this image on the other machine (with exactly the same
videocard only not intergrated) PXES starts fine, but when X starts I get
the error:

Fatal server error
No screens found

(EE) screens where found, but none where compatible.

Because I use the harddisk installation.. I cannot change my settings after
the image is installed, I can change my settings actually, but when I reboot
they aren't saved. This is why I am waiting desperatly for 0.8, which I hope
will solve my problem with the client configuration tool. Unforunatly it has
been delayed, and I donnot know for how long.

So does anyone have any suggestions for the current version??

Thanks in advance

Robin
