Sorry for that!
But, you should still be able to control which directory (and subsequent control
files etc) you use via dhcp for the individual mac addresses you need to control
whilst still having a default for all the others.
For your subnet have a default setting of 'filename "normal/pxelinux.0";' and
for each of the workstations requiring special treatment create a block
host <name> {hardware ethernet <mac in nn:nn:nn:nn:nn:nn format>;
filename "other/pxelinux.0";}
You can then use different anything in those directories (eg.
other/pxelinux.cfg/default can refer to a different kernel and initrd and you
can have a different default.conf in the /other directory).
