I think it's more perl related.
Try something like this in PxesconfigModel.pm:

   1774
   1775 sub check_fstab($) {
   1776    my ($self) = @_;
   1777
   1778    $DEBUG = 3;
   1779

Adding DEBUG = 3 you will be able to see what is searched in /etc/fstab 
and the result.
