LOCAL_USB_ENABLED=0, but you should rebuild your image to set this parameter.
# pxesconfig -d my.conf
# vi my.conf # set LOCAL_USB_ENABLED=0
# pxesconfig -c my.conf

Does the USB check hang the machine ?
