How to boot PXES from a floppy when cdrom/hd are unavailable ?

Hi,

I want to use an old P5/66Mhz (16Mb RAM) as a NX Client.  I don't have
another fixed PC on this LAN, so I don't want to boot via the network.
 This machine is so old that it can't boot from the CD-ROM (only A:C:
and C:A: are available in the BIOS).  Furthermore, the BIOS doesn't
recognize correctly the size of my 20 Gb harddisk (nor my 4Gb).  So
I'm forced to boot using a floppy because GRUB (located on the
harddisk) fails at startup.  Currently, I boot using BG-Rescue Linux
or Mininux.  After that, I can successfully mount partitions of my
20Gb /dev/hda because Linux is smarter than the BIOS :-)

In this context, I wanted to run PXES, so I downloaded the PXES ISO on
a reiserfs partition.  I can mount the ISO using -o loop.  In this
ISO, there is a file named pxes.img.  I want to mount it but I don't
know of which type it is (the "file" command doesn't help me) ?  If I
could mount it, I could chroot into it and run the PXES X11 server and
NXClient.

Next, I tried another thing : I copied all files contained in the ISO
on a new ext2 partition (/dev/hda4) and made it bootable.  I created a
floppy disk with "mkboot -r /dev/hda4 vmlinuz" where vmlinuz is the
kernel contained in the PXES ISO.  I rebooted using this floppy but it
failed with "CRC error" after the "Uncompressing Linux..." message.  I
thought that I used a bad floppy so I made the same process again with
another floppy but got the same error :-(  I don't understand why it
doesn't work... I tried also to remove "compact" from lilo.conf but
this didn't improve anything.  In fact, it was painfully slow...
