Dear Santa Diego, as I was a good boy most of the year, here's my wishlist for V1.0: (I don't add those points already mentioned by others as I hope there will be a real poll about that - or do you measure it on replies to sent in mails? Then I have to do another reply to this ;) ) - support for HDD-Install. The installation could be done via a DHCP-Process. So a client would first try to get a DHCP-Server, if it fails it just boots its local image. If it succeeds it checks against a value on the DHCP-Server if it is lower or greater than the one stored on the HDD. Dependent on that a new image is loaded from the web and stored to the local disk or the current one is loaded. If there's no image on the disk a first time install will be done via the net (and not via boot disks or boot cds). This would make the deployment of PXES very easy :) I've made up some ideas around that and could help you with the realisation. - to do the above (and many more things): Subversion (or any other Versioning system) support :) So it's easier to add customization wishes and actually to share work on the actual fork of PXES. - PKI Authentification. This would make it possible to establish PXES in companies careing about high security - VPN support - support for Dialup-Networks - save local config to USB-Stick support. So if a client boots and an USB-Stick is detected holding some config this is loaded (for example connection parameters for a RDP- or ICA-Connection) - better adjustability of pxesconfig (although that could be a lack of my understanding of GtkPerl ;) ) Christmassy greetings, Sascha. ------------------------------------------------------- SF email is sponsored by - The IT Product Guide Read honest & candid reviews on hundreds of IT Products from real users.
