Easy. Tell your DHCP server the MAC address of each client, and what the IP
is supposed to be.
DHCP will hand out a static address, and all the other site-wide options
will apply too. If you want to change a site-wide option (maybe gateway or
something) in the future it's a lot easier this way than to visit every
machine!
dhcpd does it like this:
host m119laser {
fixed-address 192.168.17.42;
hardware ethernet 00:60:b0:b9:29:da;
}
Windows DHCP server does this too.

Subject: [pxes-devel] Configure PXES 0.9 With Static IP: Set. Save. Restore.
Dear developers,
Please help to configure PXES thin client.
When I run PXES with DHCP server, everythnig is fine, but
I need to set static IP for each of thin clients, because using of DHCP
server is acceptable for several reasons.
PXES 0.9 are running on PC with 32Mb IDE-FLASH
Questions:
1. How to set IP?
2. How to save IP setting on local IDE-FLASH?
3. How to use saved setting after reboot?
Thank you in advance,
Roman
