I'm trying to add APM support to PXES 1.0, as it seems absent from the
PXES kernel.

Sofar, all my attempts to build an image containing the new kernel and
modules have failed.

I have followed these instructions several times just in case i had missed
something:

http://pxes.sourceforge.net/wiki/index.php/Kernel_Customization

I can build the kernel.

I can also start pxesconfig, and select the new kernel.

On pressing next PXES terminates with these messages:

# pxesconfig
Use of uninitialized value in concatenation (.) or string at
/usr/lib/perl5/site_perl/5.8.1/Pxesconfig/PxesconfigModel.pm line 3335.
Use of uninitialized value in concatenation (.) or string at
/usr/lib/perl5/site_perl/5.8.1/Pxesconfig/PxesconfigModel.pm line 3343.
Fatal error:
I couldn't find any network card in ''

Attempts to manually include the modules in the image also fail. PXES says
on boot up that the network card can not be found.

What the hell am i doing wrong? I have been using Linux for almost 10
years and I have never had this much difficulty customizing a kernel!
