Re: qplus_user_guide.pdf missing page 51-53?

Thought I'd got lcdproc working and then spent two more evenings to get 
it really working. One of the things that confused me is that no files 
are deleted on the target file system, so if you 
 1. switch an option on, build and deploy
 2. switch the option off, build and deploy
you will still have the files from step 1 in your target. Took me a 
while to realize this, although once understood it is no problem to 
delete the files by hand first. Anyway, it now seems to work.

Not sure madplay works with irmp3. If it does I'll be lazy, if not I'll 
package mpg123. But first on my list to package is lirc.

At least for now I'll put what I make on my own website 
(http://members.chello.nl/j.faber4/qplus/index.htm). Once there are 
enough extra packages floating around someone can start worrying about 
a proper repository, but for now a page with links to websites of 
authors that have made one or more packages is probably the quickest 
way to make them all available. I'd be happy to maintain such a page, 
even more happy if someone else does ;-)

Sure. Right now I'm working on a mp3 player for in the living room. The 
idea is to host the mp3's on a separate pc and boot/play the files from 
this pc. In this way no noisy hard disk is required.
Future extensions might be:
 - Internet radio.
 - Broadcast (old-fashioned) radio (with suitable receiver hardware).
 - TV-tuner (with suitable hardware).
 - Playing videos (mpeg/avi/div-x) from hard disk, CDROM or DVD.

The last two are low on my prio list as I am not much of a movie 
watcher. I think Freevo is more a video-type player?

Hardware: right now I am using an old 466MH Celeron for testing, will 
probably buy a VIA EPIA series motherboard for the final version.

PS: I bought a Archos Jukebox Studio 20 mp3 player this weekend. Does 
almost all I want in the living room, except that it has no remote 
control. But I bought so I can take my music with me when traveling. 
Connecting it to my Mandrake 9.0 box was a piece of cake. Only 
disadvantage is that the USB 1.1 interface is quite slow, copying my 
>10 GB colleciton of mp3's took several hours. But that should be a 
one-time only action.
