Hi,
I hope this will find you well. Try this test case.
1. Create Project using iPAQ bsp.
2. Build kernel will successfully build the kernel.
3. Try to modify/add any kernel option. e.g. Disable
"MTD Debugging support".
So that next when you build the kernel it will not
give you message like
".config is not changed since last build".
4. Try to build the kernel, without removing
build/linux directory. It will give you the following
error.
------------------snippet--------------------------
.config produced by oldconfig differ from that was
produced by configtrans.py
make CROSS_COMPILE=arm-linux- ARCH=arm bzImage
scripts/split-include include/linux/autoconf.h
include/config
make: *** No rule to make target
`/armsbc/build/linux/include/asm/arch/param.h', needed
by
`/armsbc/build/linux/include/asm/param.h'. Stop.
[TRILOK] Above error occurs because symlink in
include/asm/arch has
been
broken. Check this by cd into include directory.
[TRILOK/]
cp /armsbc/build/linux/arch/arm/boot/*zImage
/armsbc/target/kernel/qplus
cp: cannot stat
`/armsbc/build/linux/arch/arm/boot/*zImage': No such
file or
directory
cp /armsbc/target/kernel/qplus
/armsbc/target/usersupp/boot/qplusp
make CROSS_COMPILE=arm-linux- ARCH=arm modules
make -C kernel CFLAGS="-D__KERNEL__
-I/armsbc/build/linux/include
-Wall
-Wstrict-prototypes -Wno-trigraphs -O2
-fomit-frame-pointer
-fno-strict-aliasing -fno-common -fno-common -pipe -g
-mapcs-32
-march=armv4
-mtune=arm7tdmi -mshort-load-bytes -msoft-float
-DMODULE"
MAKING_MODULES=1
modules
make[1]: Entering directory
`/armsbc/build/linux/kernel'
make[1]: Nothing to be done for `modules'.
...continue for modules.
------------------snippet--------------------------
5. As I explained above in [TRILOK] section, above
error occurs due to
broken
symlink. I have resolved this error by just putting
self.kernelmake("symlinks") above
self.kernelmake("bzImage").
Now build the kernel again you will not get error and
kernel will
compile
again with modified options.
If I am correct please update kernelsystem.py.
