Paolo, just out of curiosity, why do you always push that people use the latest version of RTAI or always ask what version they're on? Do you not agree that system hangs / freezes and kernel panics are related to kernel and BIOS configuration? If those issues (system freezes etc) were related to RTAI versions, then with that logic, every system that runs an older version of RTAI would freeze because it isn't the latest and greatest. The hal-linux kernel patches need to have modifications to the kernel's kconfig menu so people can stop enabling options that interfere with IPIPE. Not everybody is like you and me who memorized the entire kernel configuration menu like the back of our hands for x86 and x64 platforms. As for Yamato Kira / C.P, If you're unsure about building your own RTAI kernel, copy the kernel config from the LinuxCNC livecd and use that as-is. Keep fingers crossed. For D.I.Y users who insist; make tinyconfig, only enable what you need.
