Hello,

Thank you for the advice. I downloaded v.2.6.32.20 and applied the
corresponding patches from rtai.3.9.2. I ran 'make localmodconfig' to
generate the .config file. The kernel compiles but 'make install' issues
the following errors:

sbfvib-lp2:thayward [/usr/src/kernels/linux-2.6.32.20-rtai]> sudo make
install

sh /usr/src/kernels/linux-2.6.32.20-rtai/arch/x86/boot/install.sh
2.6.32.20-rtai-x86_64 arch/x86/boot/bzImage \

                System.map "/boot"

The new kernel does boot to the login prompt, but the USB keyboard does not
respond. I can ssh into the machine and access accounts and filesystems OK.

After searching for a couple hours, I understand that the missing modules
and keyboard problem are related to the kernel installation, and are not
rtai-specific. I compiled a non-rtai version of the kernel that has the
same problems. However, I have not been able to find exactly how to fix
the problems. Is there a specific package I can install in CentOS6 using
yum to supply the missing modules?

Cheers,
Tom Hayward
