I suggest using the latest 5.1. The 32-64 bits patches are unified in a single patch, to be found in base/arch/x86/patches.
RTAI is working with Ubuntu 16.04 and gcc 5.4.0 on a couple of my PCs.

Subject: [Rtai] Where are 64bit patches for RTAI 5.0.1

Hello RATI community,

I am trying to install the RTAI 5.0.1 on my 64bit OptiPlex 5050 Dell machine
with Ubuntu 16.04 on it.

In the old days there were separate directories in the "......base/arch"
directory for 32bit and 64bit machines, e.g. x86_64 and x86.

But there is only x86 patches in the 5.0.1 version. Does this mean I can use
these on a 64bit as well as 32bit machine?

Also would compiler version 5.4.0 be adequate?

Many thanks in advance.

Best regards,

Aref
