Hi,
I don't know what is your starting kernel version ; it is strange for me to try the older kernel version.
Nevermind, I never used apt-get install rtlinux on debian ; then, I strive to use the latest version of rtlinux with the latest patch and I found it works with 2.4.24-rtl3.2-pre3 kernel.
You could download knoppixrtlinux33.iso at ftp://ftp.antesis.org/livelinux/knoppixrtlinux/ ; knoppix is debian-like and may be the knoppix-installer works.
Hope this help
Aimé
