what kind of interface do you use?
if i remember correctly the parallel port can do up to 100kHz.
with the serial port (rt_com) you can setup 115200kbit/s.

or do you want to communicate between rtlinux tasks/threads?
note that the aim of rtlinux is to reduce the jitter (latency)!
