scripts/instl panic

hello,
	 I am installing the rtlinux.I download prepatched version and the rtldoc-3.2-pre1 from the website.I do as every instructions write in docs.Everything seems ok. But when I try to 
run sh scripts/instl,there comes panic. The panic is same as the panic described in the maillist http://www2.fsmlabs.com/pipermail/rtl/2002-September/010971.html .I had not found the answer for this question.
     Is anybody familiar with this can give me a help. Thanks a lot.
