you might want to look at REDD, we have that working fine with 3com cards
including multiple cards of the same type (though that change has not yet
been fed back - drop me a note if you want to play with that).

lwip should also work, if it did not initialize the driver then it might
be that the device ID for your card is missing (there are multiple 3c905
cards) - check the device IDs against the IDs in the linux driver.
