Hi,
I don't know about 2.6 kernels, but for 2.4 you need to apply the patch
to a vanilla (unaltered) kernel from www.kernel.org
Distos like red hat make changes to the kernel that can be incompatible
with RTLinux.

Also make sure you have the drivers for your hard driver compiled into
the kernel (not modules), and the filesystem as well.
