rtlinux free with different mother board chipsets

Hi,

I'm trying to run multiple tasks on a linux PC. One of them is a hard 
real time periodic task. The rest should be also as much real time as 
possible, but lower priorities.
After several tests, I see that our implementation works fine only sis 
chipsetted motherboards with Intel processors.
Does anyone notice such a problem?

I tried to use Intel i915GV chipset motherboard with P4 processor. It is 
listed in Intel's embedded roadmap 
(http://www.intel.com/design/intarch/roadmap.htm) and was available in 
the market. But our periodic task had too much jitter (Up to 2ms!). If 
we use sis chipset motherboars (regardless of the celeron or pentium 
processor type) the jitter is below 10-20 micro seconds.
We use kernel 2.4.20 with RTlinux free 3.2.pre2.

What could be the problem?
