well thats an inherent property of a CD image that its read-only you
need to mount some additional read-write media - i.e. a USB-stick or
a hard drive partition or a NFS-directory.

Arthur Siro just finished up his new live-cd with the latest RTLinux/GPL
on it - it will be on the web soon, should be available by the end of the 
week latest.
