**NOTE:  SATA-II != SATA-IO = 3GHz (300MBps)

SATA-IO is now the _official_ name for 3GHz/300MBps (and,
eventually, 600MBps) Serial ATA (SATA).  It requires the use
of a twisted pair cable and other signaling.  SATA-II has
become a "marketing name" that does _not_ guarantee 300MBps,
and might only be 150MBps.

So consider SATA-II much like USB 2.0 -- you have to actually
have a SATA-IO capable SATA-II controller to get 3GHz
(300MBps), much like you have to have an EHCI capable USB 2.0
controller to get 480Mbps (60MBps).
