For some = reason the server is no longer working. I suspect that for some reason = my bios has been reset. Now i want to be able to boot this alpha = machine. I have installed linux a couple of times on intel machine and = feel at ease with it. But for this alpha one i am a little bit stuck. What i want to do is : =20 To be able to boot this machine without formating my /home directory so = that i get back my data. For that i need to know how to bot this machine. It is a Alpha Pc 164LX processor: Digital Alpha 21164 Revision 7.2 (533 Mhz) Alpha Bios : 5.60-3 970821.1226 I have an adaptec scsi card 2940. an IBM scsi disk 4134 MB partitionned as follow: partition 1: 10MB FAT (most probably = contains the milo) partition 2: 500MB unrecognized (i belive this should be = the root partition) partition 3: 102MB unrecognized (this should be the swap = partition) partition 4: 3522MB unrecognized (the data should be there) I can add another scsi disk on that system if necessary. Please help me I do not know how to create a bootable floppy disk for the alpha an = configure the bios to boot with it.
