Re: debian from ethernet to wifiI tried ls /sbin/w* and wpa_supplicant and wpa_cli are in that directory. Thos could be part of those wicd packages I downloaded earlier.

So I ran wpa_supplicant and got told it had successfully initialized 
wlan2.  I think I'll try Wilhelm's modifications to my 
/etc/network/interfaces file a<then se that happens.
