vpn question

I am running ubuntu but my customer is using an old version of cisco vpn and 
using the cert meghod of authentication which is not supported by vpnc.  My 
version of ubuntu is 14.04.  I have tried running the windows vpn installer 
using wine but that is also not working.  Does anyone have any suggestions?
