Hi Eric, There was a guide although it was very old, not sure where it is now. Maybe someone can give the link. Its very old so I am not sure how applicable it is with 6.1 nightly. Maybe you can ask something more specific about customizing CMS. I don't have working knowledge on 6.x, just 5.x, we can try.
