AW: Unable to start 6.1 installation

Thanks, Tom. Following these links, I at least get to a few places.
Unfortunately, other pages simply don't work, including .../ccm/portal,
.../ccm/content/content-center-redirect.jsp and the like. Additionally,
all strings only show their variable name, e.g.
"ui.admin.tab.group.title", "ui.admin.searchAndList.submitAgain" and so
forth. 

This smells as if my installation is missing a few *very* important
configuration files, right? Can anyone help me with this??
