It looks like you may be mixing up the development and production environments. 'ccm hostinit' is only used in a production environment. 'ant deploy' replaces it in the development environment. If you're editing application.xml and running ccm-configure.sh, it sounds like you don't need 'ccm hostinit'. You do still need 'ccm load', though.
