Red Hat's Rawhide is the cutting edge, permanently in alpha state, version of Red Hat's distribution that, after it comes to be sort of stable, becomes the beta release you may hear about every now and then. In other words, it is constantly under development, and you should _not_ install it on _any_ system where stability is an issue. On the other hand, if you would like to see what is to come in future releases, and/or like to get your hands dirty in anything Red Hat or Linux... give it a try. > 2. what is contib.redhat.com ? > Contrib is the server that contains software contributed by people in the Linux community and that is not a part of the official Red Hat Linux distribution. For example, you may package a given application in a nice RPM that was compiled with some options that are not present in the official Red Hat RPM. If you want to share it with the community, you can upload it to the contrib server. ---------------- Nitebirdz Mozilla--> http://www.mozilla.org/ Linux XFS--> http://oss.sgi.com/projects/xfs/
