Re:cross-platform c/c++ compilation.

Depends upon what's ur view of a simple C/C++ prog. If you are using std 
C/C++ functions,then the runtime guarantees it would run on any underlying 
hardware if an implementation is available.
There might be some prob when writing network apps., because of the byte 
ordering of the machine, but there also we have Socket APIs using which we 
can make our app platfrom neutral.
