Tool for examining sybols in a lib file

Hello,

I'm trying to find a way to find out the names of the
symbols (functions/variables) archived in a native
library - libm.a, for concreteness.  It seems I should
be able to do it somehow with ld but I can't find an
option.  Can anyone point me in the right direction?
