Card reader on USB port

How can I configure a CF Card Reader on a USB port? I can see it
under"Hard Drives" by opening the Hardware Browser on the System Tools
menu:
Device	 	Start	End	Size(MB)	Type
/dev/sda
  sda1		1	978	122 		fat16

If I try to $mount /dev/sda   I get a message that it's not listed in
the /etc/fstab or the /etc/mtab files.  Does anyone know the proper way
to configure on of these in Fedora?

If this is the wrong list to ask please recommend the correct list?
