kde and QT

Tried to update KDE but was informed by the install program that it 
could not find QT's headers and library files.  Fedora installed QT  
into /usr/lib/ . Should it be in /usr/local/ ? Or would a path command 
fix everything.
Otherwise the update seemed to go OK.
