Can we retire python-PyPDF2 and pdf-stapler for Fedora 45+?

Hello,

I've described the reasons for this back in Mar 12, 2026:
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=2446966

The only dependency requiring python-PyPDF2 is pdf-stapler which is
FTBFS and has a dead upstream:
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=2438989
https://github.com/hellerbarde/stapler/issues/99

The main admin of both packages is Ranjan Maitra (CCed) who agreed to
retire them on Jul 3:
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=2446966#c2
But he has taken no action since.

Who can help solve this case? What is the appropriate process?

Thanks and regards,
Tadej
