btrfs can be extended to span multiple physical volumes. However, you should  
seriously consider setting up a RAID, which brtfs can also do.

All SSDs have a built-in suicide clock. When this one goes, not only will it  
go up in smoke, but the random half of your data that remains on the other,  
working drive, will also be pretty much lost.
