today's revised revision: wsdd added

Samba server not showing in Windows:

smb.conf:
     NetBIOS name should be uppercase
     for example:
         netbios name = SERVER

hosts allow's 127 needs to have a "1" at the end
     for example:
         hosts allow = 192.168.202.0/24 127.0.0.1

wsdd:
wsdd need to be stopped and started along with
    smbd and nmbd
       # systemctl stop wsdd
       # systemctl stop smb
       # systemctl stop nmb

       # systemctl start nmb
       # systemctl start smb
       # systemctl start wsdd

add /etc/sysconfig/wdss to the following as root
       OPTIONS="-n netbios_name -w work_group_name"
       where:
netbios_name is the "netbios name" from /etc/samba/smb.conf, and
work_group_name is the "workgroup" from /etc/samba.conf

Firewalld:
    see samba.firewalld.setetings.txt

Samba firewalld settings:

; Firewalld settings (run as root):
firewall-cmd --permanent --zone=public --add-service=samba
firewall-cmd --permanent --zone=public --add-port=3702/udp
firewall-cmd --permanent --zone=public --add-port=137/udp
firewall-cmd --permanent --zone=public --add-port=138/udp
firewall-cmd --permanent --zone=public --add-port=139/tcp
firewall-cmd --permanent --zone=public --add-port=445/tcp
firewall-cmd --zone=public --add-port=5357/tcp --permanent
firewall-cmd --reload

To verify:
    firewall-cmd --zone=public --list-all
    firewall-cmd --zone=public --list-ports

Windows checks (powershell as admin):
    nbtstat -A 192.168.202.10
    net view \\SERVER
    Test-NetConnection 192.168.202.10 -Port 5357
