I was not able to get a clean and explicit answer to this question, however, I got a sort of workable solution. What I did was put the F44 LiveCD on an old machine, used rpm -qa on a terminal and copied the files over to another USB, and then was able to use livecd-creator using these files in my (old) kickstart configuration that compiled fine without error on F44 (actually I do not recall much by way of warnings either). This allowed me to create a new LiveCD and boot (and install) off of that.

Btw, with F44, it appears that bash does not include $HOME/bin/ in the PATH. Does that mean that this has to be explicitly included in my .bashrc, or am I missing something? (I do not have a problem with machines that went through an upgrade from earlier versions.)

Many thanks again, and best wishes,
Ranjan
