Ich werde das beherzigen, obwohl es manchmal umständlich ist.

Ich denke daß alles bei mir so ist, wie Du beschreibst. Ich habe
die kernel alle per rpm installiert, via webmin configuriert und
auf der Konsole überprüft. Aber es läuft nur der default Kernel.
Die grub.conf sieht bei mir so aus:
