Hello, I have problems compiling a new kernel on a SR870BN4. I have read the docs but i can't make a bzImage zImage bzdisk ... when i try to do a "make" i get a 77mb uncompressed kernel ( <- i don't think this is ok) I tried it with the kernelsources from www.kernel.org ( 2.4.19 ) and with the patches from http://www.kernel.org/pub/linux/kernel/ports/ia64/v2.4/ is there a how-to for compiling and installing a kernel on IA64 machines? as i say i read the Doc but there is a README-file with "Compiling this kernel doesn't differ from other platform ..." can anyone help? -- Daniel Wernle Junior Technical Consultant Quant-X Service & Consulting (tel) +43 (0)4212 90555 720 (fax) +43 (0)4212 90555 21 (mob) +43 (0)676 83939720 -------------------------------------------------------- You can find my Public Key @ www.keyserver.net FP:6582 9345 E7AC 1744 E10D 108B 0237 A5C3 D8A8 485B ~~ Frodo failed, George Bush has the Ring ~~
