It seems that ia64 use a boot loader named elilo. in the prompt elilo, we can input the boot item, or press tab to see all the item that can boot. To add a new item, we can edit /boot/efi/efi/redhat/elilo.conf. though the elilo looks like lilo, we need not run lilo after modifying elilo.conf. Best Regards!
