RE: RHEL3 63bit,using openmp, got system error(22)

I think it's the original poster who should tell more about his/her
installation. As I pointed out, the posted example worked fine on my
installation. To expand on Johan's point, a corresponding working
installation of gcc is needed prior to installing icc.  The OP claim to
have installed everything would imply there is a working installation of
both gcc (64-bit) and 'gcc -m32' in place prior to installing icc.  'gcc
-m32' is enabled by installing "legacy" development and "compatibility"
libraries, and is required for the use of 32-bit icc.

I'm not certain from the OP which architecture is in use.  I would be
hesitant to rely on 32-bit icc installed on ia64, for example.  In that
case, the EL system from the additional "extras" CD would be required.

Can you tell us a wee bit more about the set up you have? It could be a
problem with the installation as such, which is the most likely cause.
