Then after you do an xhost + on your PC and then ssh -x to the Integrity servers, x-windows programs (such as the Oracle installer) will start on the Integrity servers and be displayed on the PC screen. =20 Do you plan to have non-database apps that need to fail-over? If not, you don't need RHCS, since if all you are going to do is deploy an Oracle RAC database on Linux, there is no need for additional clustering software - Oracle provides it all. =20 Here is the patch detail for Oracle on Linux on the Integrity rx7640's:=20 Oracle only support 9iR2 rel 9.2.08, 10gR1 rel 10.1.0.5, and 10gR2 rel 10.2.0.2, or newer versions of those - so your application will need to be able to use those releases at least.=20 =20 In addition, some specific Oracle Java patches are required prior to installing Oracle.=20 =20 Do you have access to Oracle Metalink? I kno i am disturbing you in your busy schedule, but your guidance has been invaluable help me in my job. The U5 has been a success and thanks to you in all respects. There are minor issues that you can clear me about. Firstly, i dont have the GUI, as both the rx7640 didn't have any kinda display adapters. All i have is a HP thin client, will that give me the GUI? Secondly, we propose to form a cluster of 2 nodes, i guess i have to be doing the clustering first..i have Redhat Cluster Suite. Then, a have the EVA6000 (with 2 san switches, 2 controllers and 4 arrays with 4 hdds each - total 16). And finally Oracle RAC. I have been collecting documents from hp, redhat. But, i am in need of your tech-tips as my guidelines, and all the important patches for oracle that u told me about in your last mail.=20 =20 Pls. send me your suggestions. Can you pls confirm that HP Itanium rx7640 needs at least U3, or U4, U5. I dont have any access to such information. Under RHEL4 U4 /boot was not mounted by using a label so you should not need to label it anyway (under RHEL4 U5 however it does us a label FYI).=20 =09 I suggest trying a fresh install and tell the installer to remove all existing partitions and create new ones. Under<BR>RHEL4 U4 = /boot=20 was not mounted by using a label so you should not need<BR>to = label it=20 anyway (under RHEL4 U5 however it does us a label FYI). <BR><BR>I = suggest=20 trying a fresh install and tell the installer to remove = all<BR>existing=20 partitions and create new ones.
